Insurance for condominiums can be a little confusing for the home owner. Your association instruments - the Master Deed and By-Laws - separate the insuring responsibilities of the unit-owner and the condominium association. The Master Deed will describe in detail what part of your unit belongs to you and which elements are “common” to the association. Pay close attention to where responsibility falls for elements like fixtures, cabinets, plumbing, wiring, carpeting, windows, and terraces. Master Deeds are not uniformly written so care should be taken to understand what you own and how it is to be insured. Once we understand what it is you need to insure, we can help with the valuation. Please give us a call to discuss.
